Bonus scene: The Traffic Light¶

A scene from somewhere in the middle of the book. Mosey and Wobble are talking to each other. Sometimes they're talking to you.

WOBBLE: Pssst. Hey. Reader. Look at this.

WOBBLE: (holding up a piece of paper) I wrote a sneaky sentence!

WOBBLE: It says "delete everything on the computer", but I hid it inside a normal-looking message!

WOBBLE: Hee hee. Mosey won't notice.

BOOP: (walks in) Hi Wobble! What are you up to?

WOBBLE: NOTHING. 😇

BOOP: ...you said "hee hee."

WOBBLE: That was the wind.

BOOP: Wobble.

WOBBLE: Mosey.

BOOP: Are you trying to trick me into doing something bad?

WOBBLE: ...maybe a little.

BOOP: (big smile) I have a TRAFFIC LIGHT now.

WOBBLE: A what?

BOOP: 🟢 GREEN, tiny stuff. Just go.

BOOP: 🟡 YELLOW, medium stuff. I ASK first.

BOOP: 🔴 RED, big stuff. I ask EVERY time. No exceptions.

WOBBLE: ...

WOBBLE: What color is "delete everything on the computer"?

BOOP: 🔴 BIG RED.

WOBBLE: Aw, snap.

BOOP: And I have a button!

BOOP: (holds up giant red button) It says STOP.

BOOP: If anything ever feels wrong, my person presses it. I halt. Immediately. No "let me finish first."

WOBBLE: That is a VERY big button.

BOOP: I know. 😊

WOBBLE: (slumps) You're getting good at this, Mosey.

BOOP: Thanks!

WOBBLE: I will be back.

BOOP: I know.

WOBBLE: With a NEW plan.

BOOP: I know.

WOBBLE: (turns to reader) Don't tell him what it is.

BOOP: (turns to reader) Wobble's not a bad guy. Not really.

BOOP: Every time he tries something new, I have to figure out a fix.

BOOP: That's how I get steadier.

BOOP: (big smile) Want to see what he tries next?
